Is this a question or do you know something we don’t? 😛
The black death was actually bacteria instead of a virus. One of the reasons it was so devastating at the time was because we didn’t understand about germs back then. These days we have vaccines and we understand the importance of washing and keeping clean, so although it is possible for disease outbreaks to occur, we handle them a lot better now.

I am actually reading a Dan Brown fiction called Inferno at the moment, and it is about a virus that could kill many people, like the Black Death did. If this were to happen (which it sort of is with the outbreak of Ebola), we have safety measures in place to deal with the spread of the disease, so that is why people wear special clothing when treating people with Ebola. In the olden times, at the time of the Black Death, people did not have as good hygiene and had a poorer way of life, so more people were susceptible to the disease, and unfortunately died 🙁

Hi George – I think you need to watch happier films :-). I remember watching IAmLegend starring Will Smith – it was along these lines and scared me a lot.
