I think they can be good for your brain, as they can sometimes help with hand-eye coordination and reflexes. Certain brain-training games can also help with your memory and increase your concentration. However, playing video games for too long can be damaging to your health in many other ways, so don’t play for too long!

I don’t tend to play many video games but I suppose they could be good for you. Particularly games where you have to come up with a strategy of how to win because that makes you think and evaluate the result quickly! I’m not a big fan of ‘shot em up’ games and don’t think these would be lad good for you but that’s only my opinion!

I used to try and convince my parents that video games are good for you! They can improve hand-eye coordination and make you solve puzzles. But staring at a screen for too long isn’t good for your eyes.

Some people think that playing video games can make you violent. Just like any media (radio, tv, internet, games), video games can be used to put across ideas, and sometimes these ideas are violent. It is best to be media savvy and understand the difference between real life and games/tv programmes.
