• Question: can we use the enzymes in honey to improve medicine as honey has medicinal property's

      Interesting question. Most honeys have antibacterial properties because they produce enzymes that make hydrogen peroxide, and then the hydrogen peroxide kills the bacteria. So in theory we could use that in a wound dressing. It’s very hard to give enzymes as medicine though, becuase if you swallow them the enzymes and acid in your stomach would break them down. Other types of honey (like Manuka) don’t have these enzymes, and people think they work by changing the pH and such high sugar contect that bacteria die.. again this could be useful for a wound dresssnig but maybe not for a drug that goes into your body!
