  A good catalyst allows you to make chemical by using less energy and producing less waste. In other words I need less energy to make my chemical and don’t make a mess. As for sustainable the current move with catalysts is to try and convert ‘biomass’ (trees and green stuff) into useful chemicals – in this way it is also sustainable 🙂
