I’ve asked some very clever scientists that I know and they say the best description is ‘mud’. There a number of interesting things at the bottom of the sea including underwater volcanoes, canyons (like the grand canyon but under water and much much bigger!), hydrothermal vents (where unusual types of life might exist), the odd bit of buried treasure and lots of mud. I hope that helps!

Mud, sand, driftwood, dead sea creatures, shipwrecks!
Interestingly enough, it is thought that we know more about what is on the surface of the moon rather than at the bottom of our own ocean!

This is interesting, because we actually don’t know much about it! It is hard for humans to explore as it is extremely dark and the pressure is enormous down there! Anything that can live down there would be so wildly different from creatures that live on the surface.

The natural history museum has some good web pages about the deep sea floor.

I should think a fair deal of muddy sand, wierd and wonderful types of sea creatures, volcanos, craters, shipwrecks.. I think it would be quite eerie down there, pitch black and very quiet. The pressure at the bottom of the sea is very high, so anything that does live down there needs to be specially evolved to deal with that.
        Good question!
