I think two things make me slighly unusual – the first is the work I do covers a lot of different areas in sciene, so I’m quite good at filling in the gaps between different areas of science. The second is that my hobbies (art and music) mean I keep the creative side of my brain quite active – I like to think this makes me a good scientist, as I believe science is a really creative subject.
